Marcus Woolf was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama. For nearly 30 years, he has served as an editor for outdoor magazines and websites and worked as a freelance writer for national magazines like Backpacker and Outside. He is also the author of Afoot & Afield: Atlanta, Hiking Huntsville Volume 1, and Hiking Huntsville Volume 2. Marcus recently launched HuntsvilleTrails.com, where he shares hiking tips, trip reports, news stories and gear reviews related to outdoor recreation in his hometown. He also shares tales from his adventures throughout the U.S. and abroad.
